Check the online manual for more instructions on getting this stuff out.

Pop out the square inserts on the cluster surround (The ones right by the windshield, you will need a short screwdriver to fit in the space). Next unscrew the screws underneath plus 2 others near the bottom of the piece. Finally there are 2 more connecting the cluster to it as well. Once all those are out you can take the cluster surround out.

There are 2 screws left on either side of the cluster but further back than the others. Careful not to drop any of the screws. Once they are all out you need to reach under the driver side dash and pull the speedo cable out of the cluster (90-91 luders don't need to do this step). Finally there are 4 or 5 plugs in the back of the cluster that you need to unplug. You should be able to take the cluster completely out at this point.

WARNING! <BE VERY CAREFULL WITH THE CLUSTER AND DON'T SCREW AROUND WITH THE NEEDLES> WARNING!

To change the colour of the needles when they light up you need:

Testors candy apple red paint

Phillips screw driver

The needles are lit by a light at the top of the cluster. There are 2 screw that hold this light bar on. Take it off and then pop the coloured plastic piece off of the light bar:

Paint the bottom side of the coloured piece with the candy apple red paint. Keep holding it up to the sky (or light) to check till only the red shows through.
Remember; you don't want to paint it too much or the needle wont be bright enough at night. Let the paint dry for a few minutes and be careful not to touch it when putting it back together.

Here what mine looked like once I was done:

Just put it back together the way you took it apart. Now at night the needles will be red.

Gauges:

Take the bulbs out of the back of the gauge cluster. Peel the blue covers off of them:

Cover up their metal connectors with tape and paint the bulbs with the candy apple red paint then reinstall when they are dry.
After about a week you may notice the colour has faded a little. Take them back out and give them a nice healthy covering of the paint again.
They shouldn't fade anymore now, mine have been in for like 4 months and are still the same.
