So I've always wanted heads up display... so I got the defi vsd concept over the winter.
Took off the bottom piece of the dash, and decided to install the controller where there is suppose to be a driver air vent!!?! I think but I guess in north america we didn't get this option.
Here is the controller installed.
Front view of it installed.
Now for power... the controller needs, 12v, 12v ign, ground. I decided to take it from my cd player because I'm gonna get a new deck one day soon and won't be needing the wires from the cdplayer. There is also an 12v light that you have to install only if you are hooking up the vsd to the master controller unit which is separate from the hud. (Defi-Link Control Unit II)
White/Yellow - 12v
Black - Ground
Yellow/Red - 12v ign.
I also have to tap into the tach and speed signals, which I got from the cluster. There are 3 connectors on the cluster (91 si/sr electronic cluster)
A connector on the left, the center and the right. Use the one on the left.
White/Blue - Speed
Blue - Tach
I mounted the display on the cluster cover, because it looks best over there and doesn't make it look too aftermarket.
Here it is all installed... The only problem is that I can't see it too well on the glass, because the location I put the display, makes the image too high up the glass. So I'm not done... so I've decided to make my own little reflector with a piece of plexi glass. Thats it for now.
Ok I cut a piece of plexi glass and mounted it on top of the vsd concept.
And I'm done! finally!
